Conviction is a per-coldkey, per-subnet score that grows from zero toward a locked alpha amount over a ~90-day half-life, a public signal of long-term commitment that cannot be silently reversed. A lock targeting the subnet owner's hotkey is instantly matured to the full locked amount, so owner-aligned locks read at full weight from day one. Locks are either perpetual (stay full until released) or decaying (melt to zero over time). Owner committed is the subnet owner's own wallet; other backers is everyone else.
